Elements, atoms and molecules explained!
Topics are: what is an atom? What is an element? What is a molecule? We will look at the
periodic table and study a few elements in more depth. We will also build molecules using
the Molymod building sets.
Suitable for ages 9-12, course fee: $25 per student
Introductory chemistry: atoms and molecules
A hands-on workshop where students learn about chemistry through using the Molymod
molecular model building set. Topics: atom structure, electron structure, Periodic Table,
compounds, balancing chemical reactions, organic families and their structures,
3-dimensional shapes of simple molecules.
Suitable for ages 13-17, course fee: $25 per student.
Introduction to electronics
This exciting new workshop will see children learn about electronics concepts through a
series of challenges using the Electroflash electronics teaching kits. They will learn about
the function of common electronics components (such as light bulbs, resistors, diodes,
transistors, capacitors, LEDs) and series and parallel circuits. A fun, hands-on workshop.
Suitable for ages 10-14, course fee: $25 per student.
Electricity workshop
Topics:circuit symbols, circuit diagrams, conductors and insulators. A hands-on workshop
where the students make a fun electric circuit project to take home.
Suitable for ages 9-13, course fee: $25 per student.
